NASA Start the development of self-healing spaces and devices that collect energy from the atmosphere of Venus

As part of the program «Innovative advanced concepts» NASA allocated to $ 0.5 million to develop each of the 18 revolutionary technological projects that will contribute to the development and study of space.

One project involves the creation of the Venus of the Research Mission descent on the surface. However, this is not an ordinary planet ship, since it consists of two robotic devices. While the planting apparatus conducts research, the second floats in the atmosphere, collecting energy, and then lowers and remotely transmits its ground colleague. Such a concept will create a constant source of energy for planetary missions and provide long-term equipment.

Another project provides for the development of a new type of space, which will increase the agility of the movements of astronauts. It will be made of self-healing protective material, equipped with a mass of sensors and soft robotics technologies. It would also solve the problem of the convenience and sizes of the scafflers.

Another interesting concept is based on spiders biology that produce a web to catch the wind stream. The project provides for the creation of tiny probes, weighing only 5 mg, which will work in large groups and will be able to float the planets under study. This will allow scientists to collect more data, and also it is better to understand from what and how the studied cosmic bodies appeared.

Other projects suggest the creation of outposts on the moon, neutrino detectors, light sails and nuclear probes for research of long-range space.
